The sauna hat isolates by protecting your head against overheating in the sauna, but also keeping it warm while you are in the water. This pattern has stripes, but this is a great opportunity to play with colors and patterns.
Be aware that the hat is gigantic and loosely knitted, but that this will change in the process of felting.
Remember to always do a gauge swatch, and test felt it in your washing machine. Often will the gauge swatch demand two washes, before getting the wished result.
Sizing: Onesize
Gauge: 10 x 10 cm = 13 stitches x 18 rounds in stockinette (before felting)
Needle size: 6 mm 40 cm circular needle, 6 mm double pointed needles or magic loop
Yarn: “Álafoss Lopi” by Istex (or similar yarns in 100% wool, non-superwashed)
Yardage: 1 skein colour A, 1 skein colour B
